Here's the Feb roundup

Is anyone enjoying these so far? Do they give you an insight into the person behind the biz?

So what's happened in Feb?

Well I want to give you this epic rundown of all the amazing things that have happened in my life and my biz and how many achievements I’ve gotten, but to be honest, Feb was a bit of a blur.

For the first half, it didn’t even register that it was Feb, I honestly still thought it was January, a very long, very intense January.

Here’s something that I’ve noticed over the past few years. Does your family have a month where everything goes to 💩?

I’ve noticed in our family it’s January. We’ve ended up in hospitals and at the vets and waiting up at night for a month for a lost kitty (he came home and he’s fine 🐈‍⬛😮‍💨) Not all last month thankfully, but the last few January’s have been super stressful.

An the latter half of the month...

Part of me really doesn’t know, it did pass by in such a blur that I can’t really remember much about it.

I got up, I ate, I went shopping, I worked, I did the human thing.

But let’s have a think…..

Ah I got it,

In no particular order,

 – I set up a new offer, no not the one I mentioned in January, that’s still a WIP (Work in Progress) I’ll link to the new offer ate the bottom of the page, for now it’s only available to those inside of my awesome client Melissa’s bundle over at the Cookie Jar Swag Bag

 – I actually started to use Make.com properly – woohoo, boy was it tough getting stuff set up and working. If anyone is familiar with Zapier, it’s not the same! While it’s a steep learning curve, it does over sooo many more possibilities

 – I moved a client over to Airtable, (yes it’s the same client as the bundle) and she is loving it! I love spreadsheets, their versatility, the way they can hold a bunch of info, but my client doesn’t. It doesn’t sit well with her ADHD, and so for a while I’ve been looking for a way that we can combine the both, visual information with minimal distractions and super ease of use, and Airtable has got it baby!

 – At the same time, I’ve set up a bunch of automations in her biz that means it’s running so smooth now she is amazed by how little she needs to do. For a bundle launch, she only needs to approve contributors and everything else is done in the background 🥳

On the personal side

There is always talk in VA forums and people starting out with service based businesses about how to get clients. Having been in the game for over 3 years now, I’m not sure the end goal is to get as many clients as you can, but to get clients that make ‘coming to work’ fun. It’s not all the time, I mean things break, you have off days, there is miscommunication sure, but get clients that remember your work anniversary and send you flowers 🥰

And that you can have fun with like this,

I want to  make it clear that my client and I have been building this relationship for quite a while now. I don’t recommend going in with a new client and speaking to them like this. I mean unless that’s just you and then go for it.

So final round up, what else happened in February, I bought a slow cooker. Haven’t used it yet, want to try making my own Stroganoff. So if anyone has any good slow cooker recipes that aren’t stew, send ’em over.

I realised when the sun came out how much I have SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) in the winter so I upped the good old Vitamin D, because you know the sun is gonna disappear in about a week and stay hidden while we have winter no.2 until June 🤦‍♀️, it is the UK after all.

For the first time in my life I felt excited to pay off some of my credit card, hellloo adulthood 😆.

As I’m starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel now and was about to launch into the debate I had with myself over which pair of slippers I prefer, it’s probably time for Feb’s round up!

What I’m
Reading

The focus for Feb was more on the biz side. I do love fiction but sometimes find it exhausting to read as, as I am reading it plays as a film in my head. Not the best for wind down time! But here is what’s on the nightstand this month:

What I’m
Watching

I know you’ll get these entrepreneurs who tell you they never watch TV, and maybe they’re telling the truth. As someone who needs downtime because of Chronic Fatigue, amongst other things, I need something to take my mind off of things. So here’s what was playing in Feb:

 – Hawaii Five-0 the new series
 – Frasier
