July 9th 2025

You can see from the date that I am a little behind on these blog roundup posts. and that’s because I am human and stuff happens.

I would love to tell you that I am super organised in my personal life that I carved out time to write these every month, and while I do enjoy writing them, (do you enjoy reading them?) I have to admit that by the end of June I couldn’t have told you what day of the week it was.

So May..

Let’s start there.

I decided that as I hadn’t taken any dedicated time off for a couple of years, bar a day or two here and there, that I would take off a week. A whole, solid week.

The Universe had other ideas…

What did the Universe have in store?

EVERYTHING!

I started the week off with a nice lie-in.

Then I got a 3 day migraine 😭

Then my cat got sick, and by sick, I mean we had to go in as an emergency to the vet because he had stopped tinkling!

You know where you have one of those weeks where everything goes wrong and you don’t quite know why, it turned into the whole of May.

And then June..

Haha, June, ahh you funny month, you crazy month, a month that was filled with vet visits and medication and just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse…..

My other cat got ill 🤦‍♀️

I’d just made an appointment for Mickey, and then I walk out the bedroom and Patch is wheezing and dribbling with roasty, toasty ears 🥵

So off we go as an emergency x 2 to the vet.

Now there is 2 cats with 3 lots of medication a day..

Talk about trying. (Yes the gif is a reuse of April’s, I know, still applies!)

And then there was July

Somewhere in there July appeared, and here we are.

At the same time there were client holidays and client personal issues and so I have to say that while the Universe was super testing me, it did allow me the space to deal with being at home with my kitties and a super light work load to be able to take care of them and myself.

So, I don’t really have a lot to tell you about May and June, that was the extent of it. I mean I could go into that I went food shopping etc, learnt more about cats urine than I ever wanted to and got excited when the colour changing cat litter arrived, but I draw the line at talking about the mundane (ish) 😆.

Instead, I have 20 questions for you that I kindly asked Chat GPT to write for me so that you could get to know me a bit better.

Now you can get to know me in 20 questions

  1. What’s one tech tool I’d happily never use again? Notion. No explanation, that’s it, cannot get my head around that platform at all!

  2. What’s my favourite “quick win” to help someone feel less stuck with tech?  Ask them to turn it off and on again. 😆 I jest but it’s usually my mum asking for help and it usually helps

  3. What’s one piece of business advice I completely ignore? Make a business plan, plan your day, make to do lists. There is 3 for you. Honestly I’m like you, I organise my clients military style, but my biz runs on prayers and tea.

  4. Tea, coffee, or something entirely different? Just to be controversial, Tea (I’m British don’t you know) but I love the smell of coffee 🍵

  5. If I could automate one thing in everyone’s business, what would it be? Everything. Honestly, get it off your plate and automate it

  6. What’s a platform I secretly (or not-so-secretly) enjoy working in?  There are several,  Airtable (I love learning new things that I can do with it), Kartra, Kit and I do secretly love WordPress

  7. What’s a small win from the last two months that made me smile?  Watching my clients realise their worth and glow up

  8. What’s a phrase I say all the time when helping clients troubleshoot? Had to ask a client for this one as I couldn’t have told you, they told me I say, ‘It’s not you it’s the tech’, which it probably is, usually about a platform, and “Do you want to try this yourself, or do you want me to do it for you

  9. What’s a mistake I see over and over that’s easy to fix? Tags, email sequence issues (quick plug there, scroll to the bottom of the page to see what I am excited about!), clearing the cache in WordPress

  10. What’s my go-to brain reset when I hit a wall? Go and eat something as it’s usually the problem and watch a quick TV show to ‘turn my brain off’

  11. What’s something that looks complicated but is secretly simple with the right setup? Most tech and automations

  12. What’s a “popular” trend I have zero interest in? All of them. Seriously, never followed anyone, hence starting a blog about 10 years later than when it was the ‘it’ thing

  13. Are you an Early Bird or a Night Owl? Def a night owl which gets me into trouble with my boundaries!

  14. If I could only work with one app/platform forever, which would I choose? I couldn’t choose! Asana, Airtable, Kit, all of them! That’s why I do what I do!

  15. What’s a business task that gets way too much hype? Planning. It all goes out the window when a client task comes in.

  16. What’s a business task that deserves more hype? Planning your funnel

  17. What’s one thing I wish more people knew about working with someone like me? I support you as well as your business. You are your business and if you’re having an off week, it shows in your business, so I’m your hype person as well as your business tech -fixer

  18. What’s something I used to hate doing but now kind of enjoy? WordPress. For years I did not understand how it worked, at all. I’d log in and log out because I didn’t get it.

  19. What’s one tech thing I always recommend people stop overcomplicating? All of it. Tech works and tech breaks. There are more intuitive platforms than others but if it doesn’t make sense to you, stop using it, it won’t help you or your business if you get up each day and dread what you’re doing.

  20. What’s something I’m quietly proud of from the last two months? My new launch. Okay that’s more of a July thing, but the planning started in June.

What I’m
Reading

Nothing. I haven’t had any time in May or June to be able to read anything other than client messages, task requests and my new product doc.

What I’m
Excited For

Did the rebrand, then made a product. Launched it and…silence! So I’ll give you a new post with a roundup of what I think happened soon.
